BIOGRAPHY

Mikako is a piano teacher and composer, born in Tokyo, Japan. 20+years of teaching experience (both US and Japan).

She comes from three generations of professional musicians. She received her B.M. in Music education and Composition from Tokyo Gakugei Univ. and her M.A. from San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

In Japan, she was not only a popular piano teacher, but also produced several successful music videos. Since arriving in the US, she has composed music for concert performance, made music for several computer games and Videos, and worked as an audio engineer.

She is particularly happy working with young and old beginners at the piano.

Member of the Music Teachers Association of California since 2001.
